Get to Know Your Host, Michael
Hi, I’m Michael Tran, host of the Serving Bagels Podcast.
I started playing tennis later than most, which meant I had to approach the game differently — with intention, curiosity, and a willingness to outwork gaps in experience. I’ve been bageled more times than I can count, but those losses taught me more than the wins ever could. They pushed me to study the game deeply and understand what really separates high-level players, not just in how they hit the ball, but how they think, train, and compete.
Serving Bagels is my way of sharing that journey. It’s a podcast for people who love tennis, want to keep improving, and enjoy hearing real stories from players who’ve been in the trenches. Every episode features guests who have competed at a high level, each with their own unique style, mindset, and lessons worth passing on.
Outside the podcast, I work full-time in commercial real estate, specializing in small bay and flex industrial investment sales. I lead a team that operates across United States, markets, advising private and institutional clients on acquisitions, dispositions, and development opportunities. The work is fast-paced, strategic, and relationship-driven — and just like tennis, it rewards discipline, preparation, and knowing how to adapt.
I still play competitive tennis, and I also happen to enjoy eating bagels — just not receiving them on the court. This project started with passion, and that’s still what drives it. Whether you're a player, a coach, or just a fan of the sport, I’m glad you're here.
Let’s get to work, and maybe get you on the board before it’s 6–0.
